Overview

This page allows you to edit an event. By default an event is hidden from everywhere unless you specialize it. To add specializations, check the relevant box and fill in the details required for that specialization.

Specializations

Additional Owners

If you want more than one user to be able to edit this event, add more owners. Check the additional owners box then quicksearch for the person you'd like to add. Click their name to add them as an owner.

Attendees

You can add students, parents, and teachers to this event as attendees. Adding attendees works similarly to the old calendar system -- search for a person and click on their name, or add students by class, grade, house, or other event you've created.

Calendar Item

In order for an event to show on the calendar, you must make the event a calendar item. This is different than the previous system, which assumed that an event should always show up on the calendar. By making calendar its own specialization, you can now create a bus request or announcement without it showing up on the calendar.

Announcement

Announcements show up on the front page of the SDS for both teachers and students. Both BCS and SMUS are also working on getting these announcements to display on their digital announcement boards.

If you select one or more grades for the announcement, the announcement will only display on those students' announcement pages. If you select none, the announcement will be treated as global and displayed to everyone.

Bus Request

Use this box to request a bus for your event. An email will be sent to the transportation department notifying them that you'd like a bus.

Money Request

Use this box to request money for your event. An email will be sent requesting the money be ready for the date and time you select.

Kitchen Request

Use this box to request kitchen services for your event. An email will be sent to the kitchen with the details you enter here.
